Canon is one of the largest printer manufacturer in the world, unfortunate canon never include linux / ubuntu driver in each product that we buy, in other words Printer driver only available in Windows and Machintos. This problem sometimes inconvenient us while try to use the printer, but.
I sent an email to Canon and here is their reply.
Thank you for contacting Canon product support. I understand you have a PIXMA MG5320 and were looking for Linux drivers. I would like to help you with that.
A Linux driver is not available for your product. Please note, while considering the desire to provide the best possible support for Canon's products, Canon must make decisions on which products to support when new operating systems are introduced. Currently, Canon has decided to support only the Microsoft Windows and the Macintosh operating systems.
However, the following Inkjet Multifunction Printers have Linux drivers available for download on the Canon USA web site: MX490 / MX492 / MX532 / MX922 / MG2920 / MG2924 / MG3620 / MG5620 / MG5622 / MG5720 / MG6620 / MG6820 / MG7520 / MG7720.
The drivers are provided 'As is'. Canon U.S.A. does not provide email or telephone support for this printer driver software or for the Linux operating system.
Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Thank you for choosing Canon.
Sincerely,
Leah

You can get this printer working by installing gutenprint for linux. I wrote detailed instructions on my blog.
Canon Printer Drivers Download
The options for a person trying to install Canon's G1000 and G2000 are limited to the following:
-
Compile and install gutenprint. Gutenprint, formerly named Gimp-Print, is a suite of printer drivers for linux. It works just like native drivers and supports cups based printing.
-
Buy a third party linux printing driver and utility, called Turboprint. It too has excellent support. An added bonus is a GUI for checking printer spooling, and configuring varied options like Paper type, resolution etc. The cost of an individual license is upwards of $34.
If you decide to go with the first solution, the steps include the following. My system is a Ubuntu Xenial 64bit.
First you need some developmental headers. So add to your /etc/apt/sources.list, the following lines if you dont have them. Modify these according to your version of Linux(Debian/Ubuntu):
Update your sources and install the build dependencies:
Now download the source release package for gutenberg (version >=5.2.13) from Sourceforge.
Alternately clone the git repo.

Now configure, make and install.
