Feb 03, 2018 The Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection Adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems. After upgrading from Windows 7 I get the above message when trying to connect to the internet. Jun 05, 2015 In reply to: Network adapter on mobo not supporting 1000 Mbps network I can't find it in the spec but all indications are the Ethernet ports are only 10/100. I will not enter into any debate on this. May 11, 2018 I have recently noticed an issue with my onboard Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection. Every now and then it would fail to load correctly on bootup. In the past I have had to reboot the computer and.
I have more information about this, which basically exonerates any issue with the Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet hardware or software. I have 3 computers with Windows 10 preview so I have multiple angles to see issues from. The ASUS Intel LAN 17.3.0.0 driver package is an upgrade for Intel Gigabit on your mobo. It installs Intel Gigabit driver v12.2.45.0, dated Be sure to install the NVM utility first.
Hi! In short, I have a desktop computer with the hardware listed below that is only giving me 100 Mbps connection speed. I have 'the GIG' from CenturyLink and have tested on laptop with hard wire ethernet cable plugged in and it runs at +/- 800 Mbps. The desktop also has ethernet cable plugged in.
Motherboard: Asus Maximus IV
Network adapter 1: Intel 82579V Gigabit
Network adapter 2: Intel 82583V Gigabit
Modem: Zyxel C1000Z
Ethernet cable: Cat 5e
I've tried each adapter with the same results. I've also tried to update drives for adapters to no avail. Someone suggested the adapter does not 'shake hands nicely' with the modem at 1000 Mbps, thus defaulting to 100 Mbps.
So I guess my next step would be to buy another adapter, possibly one verified to work nicely with CenturyLink's modem, that will plug into the PCI express slot. I've never done that so not sure one iota if that will work.
Anyone care to take a shot at helping me resolve this so I can download movies in the time it takes to eat a cookie?
Thanks muchly,
Jeff

Hi Davy,
maybe there is a fix for your problem:
I experienced a comparable issue with 2 PCs in my company network after upgrading from Win10-1703 to 1709. On cold boot, the network adapter Intel 82579V (not LM) was not recognized, and I did not get a working network connection with internet access. With Windows fast boot turned off, the network connection was established, but starting took a loooong time.
I found out that the network adapter was recognized as 'Intel 82579LM' (and not 82579V) which caused the problem. After some research, I finally found the 'Intel NVM Update Utility' here:

Intel says the update fixes the problem - and it did! Once installed, the network adapter was recognized, the driver installed, and the network connection was there in almost no time - even with fast boot turned on. Another positive effect was that both PCs now only need 8 - 10 seconds to start Windows (after the hardware Information has disappeared).

Hope this also helps you fix your problem! Good luck!
